Eric Monte (born Kenneth Williams; December 25, 1943)is an American screenwriter and TV series creator. He is known for his work in depicting 1970s African-American culture. Monte wrote and created several sitcoms for television such as Good Times (with actor and screenwriter Mike Evans), The Jeffersons as a writer, What's Happening!! as well as the spin-off series, What's Happening Now!!. The series was based on the coming of age film Cooley High, which Monte wrote and which was based on his high school experiences.hollywood took everything from him made it seem like he didn't do anything they owe him millions for what he created

Turner began her career with  Ike Turner 's  Kings of Rhythm  in 1957. Under the name Little Ann, she appeared on her first record, " Boxtop ", in 1958. In 1960, she debuted as Tina Turner with the hit duet single " A Fool in Love ". The duo Ike & Tina Turner became "one of the most formidable live acts in history". [5]  They released hits such as " It's Gonna Work Out Fine ", " River Deep – Mountain High ", " Proud Mary ", and " Nutbush City Limits " before disbanding in 1976. James Nathaniel Brown (February 17, 1936 – May 18, 2023) was an American football player, sports analyst, social activist and actor. He played as a fullback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL) from 1957 through 1965. Considered to be one of the greatest running backs of all time, as well as one of the greatest players in NFL history,[1] Brown was a Pro Bowl invitee every season he was in the league, was recognized as the AP NFL Most Valuable Player three times, and won an NFL championship with the Browns in 1964. He led the league in rushing yards in eight out of his nine seasons, and by the time he retired, he held most major rushing records. In 2002, he was named by The Sporting News as the greatest professional football player ever.[2]

Several incidents centering on the segregation of the local bowling alley,  All-Star Bowling Lane , led up to the Orangeburg Massacre on February 8, 1968. In the fall of 1967, some of the black leaders within the community tried to convince Harry K. Floyd, the owner of the bowling alley, to allow African Americans. Floyd was unwilling to desegregate, and as a result, protests began in early February 1968. On February 5, 1968, a group of around 40 students from  South Carolina State University  entered the bowling alley and left peacefully after they were asked to leave by Floyd. [3]  The next night more students led by John Stroman returned and entered the bowling alley. This time police were waiting for them, and several students were detained, including Stroman. After the arrests, more students began showing up, angry that protesters were being arrested. Next, the crowd broke a window of the bowling alley, and chaos ensued.
